You learn how to use free, off-the-shelf software such as Weebly.com, Mailchimp.com, Linked-in.com, etc. and share your projects in an interactive, feedback loop. with your classmates and your instructor.

WORKING ARTIST: Do-it-Yourself Tools for your Art Career Over six weeks, this fast-paced, hands-on seminar series prepares emerging artists for launching and sustaining the business side of their professional art careers. You learn best practices when working with galleries, as well as complete your own individualized business and promotional tools: studio/show budget; business licensing; artwork consignment form; inventory & CRM databases; artist statement; artist bio; artist website, artist business card, studio e-newsletter & sign-up sheet. Prerequisite: Artists must have completed and photographed at least one body of work (minimum 8-10 thematically-connected artworks) & be proficient on a computer – either PC or Mac. Weekly homework assignments must be completed in order to successfully progress through course goals. $450. Maximum 12 participants. WORKING ARCHITECT: Do-it-Yourself Tools for your Design Business This fast-paced, hands-on paced seminar series, delivered over six evenings, prepares the sole proprietor or design principal for launching and sustaining the business side of his/her career trajectories. Designers learn to craft their own individualized business and promotional tools: studio and project budgets; business licensing; RFQ preparation (including design philosophy), studio website & blog; social media,business card, e-newsletter & sign-up mechanism. Prerequisite: Architects/designers must have completed and photographed at minimum of 6 to 10 design projects (real and/or proposed) & must be proficient on a computer – either PC or Mac. Weekly homework assignments must be completed in order to successfully progress through course goals. $450. Maximum 12 participants.
